Derdepoort Recreation Resort is a 89-hectare resort with a farm-style atmosphere. It is the ideal destination for family outings, picnics, barbeques and kiddies birthday parties. There is a shaded picnic area, modern swimming pool, and a paddling pool for the kids, as well as an amusement parks and ablution facilities.
Derdepoort Recreation Resort is a bushveld reserve in Lynn East, Pretoria. Ihe reserve offers lovely picnic and braai spots as well as an animal farm, play parks and a swimming pool. Come and enjoy our modern swimming pool, kiddies splash pool, play parks, paint-ball facilities, tea garden, picnic areas and braai facilities for the day. Or spend a weekend or holiday in our caravan park, with more than enough activities to keep the kids occupied. We offer youth camp facilities and lapas to hire for private functions.
Derdepoort Recreation Resort was developed into a Recreation Resort and Caravan Park. It offers visitors a bushveld and farmstyle atmosphere near the city. This resort is situated in the third gateway in the Magaliesberg Mountains – hence the name Derdepoort. The First House of Assembly was established on this farm of Derdepoort, on 22 May 1849. The original owner of the farm, Hans Wolmarans, lies buried next to the farmhouse or ‘opstal’.
