How to prepare Edible Lace:

  • Spray silicon moulds with a baking spray (Spray & Cook).
  • Mix 50g icing with 45 ml of boiling water – yes, boiling water!
  • Best to leave mixture overnight to cure.
  • Drying time depends on the thickness of the moulds.
  • Thin moulds can be ready after 3 hours, where thicker moulds can take up to 6 hours or overnight.
  • Mixture needs to be mixed on high speed for 4 min.
  • To keep lace moist place between 2 sheets of plastic. It’s important to ensure that the lace is not too sticky, if it is still sticky it’s not dry enough.
  • You can spray plastic sheets with baking spray.
  • You can keep your lace in fridge up to a week, but it will eventually dry out.
  • If your lace is dried out and seems brittle you can spray it slightly with water.
  • Give a few seconds before handling.
