Chrysalis School and Development Centre is a special needs school Pretoria East, Gauteng. In 2008, the founders of the Baby Therapy Centre (BTC) identified a pressing need for a school dedicated to children with special needs - that could provide not only education, but also specialised care tailored to each child’s unique challenges.
The mission of Chrysalis is to offer adapted schooling combined with intensive therapy for children aged three to twelve who face a wide range of physical and developmental disabilities. The school is committed to ensuring that every child - regardless of their disability or socio-economic background - has access to quality education, specialised interventions, and the opportunity to thrive. This dedicated group believe that every child deserves the chance to reach their highest potential.
At Chrysalis, individual goals are set for each learner, working towards improving their functional abilities and empowering them to grow into capable, independent adults who can contribute meaningfully to society. The integrated approach combines personalised interventions, a stimulating and supportive environment, and a team of dedicated, compassionate staff. Together, the school strive to enrich not only the lives of our learners but also the well-being of their families.
Some of the disabilities that are accommodated are: Global developmental delays; Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD); Cerebral Palsy (CP); Genetic Syndromes (for example Down Syndrome and Rett Syndrome and also any other unknown syndromes).
