Wonderboom Hiking Trails - Pretoria

Wonderboom Hiking Trails at the Wonderboom Nature Reserve. The Wonderboom is a 1000 year-old fig tree (Ficus salicifolia). There are various hiking trails on the reserve to choose from. The shortest route will take the hiker on a journey around the famous “Wonderboom” fig tree. There are also longer trails, including the Fort trail along the Magaliesberg ridge (a relative height of 1430m) leading to the ruins of the Wonderboom fort, and the Waterfall trial. They both offer beautiful views of the surrounding suburban areas. Hikers can enjoy the rich birdlife and spot the breeding pair of Black Eagles. This is a self-guided network of circular routes.
